Donor and Member Relations Manager
Status: Full-time; salaried; exempt
Salary: $55,000 - $65,000
Reports to: Executive Director of Development
Location: Broomall, PA

ABOUT THE NATIONAL CATHOLIC BIOETHICS CENTER
The National Catholic Bioethics Center (NCBC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to provide education, guidance, and resources to the Church and society to uphold the dignity of the human person in health care and biomedical research, thereby sharing in the ministry of Jesus Christ and his Church. The NCBC is funded primarily by grants and donations and serves a wide array of constituents, including Catholic dioceses, health care systems, universities, businesses, health care professionals, educators, clergy and religious, and the laity. Program revenues are generated by a robust range of health care ethics resources and services, including memberships, educational programs, publications, speaking engagements, and consultancy agreements.
JOB SUMMARY
The Donor and Member Relations Manager will advance the mission of the NCBC by supporting the NCBC’s development strategy, effectively communicating the mission and impact of the NCBC to donors and stakeholders, and supporting the NCBC’s membership program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Development
Manage the NCBC’s donor stewardship program, including preparing gift acknowledgments, writing donor emails, and making phone calls—and ensuring that others in the department are doing the same
Reach out to donors to secure meetings with the president and development staff
Use HubSpot, our CRM, to maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records and ensure staff interactions with donors are recorded
Conduct research to identify potential major donors and assist in developing strategies to engage and solicit support from these prospects
Assist in the planning and execution of direct-mail and email campaigns
Assist in the development of collateral materials (e.g., brochures, impact reports, annual report)
Memberships
Serve as the customer service contact for individual and institutional members
Ensure members receive their benefits via email and our member portal
Process membership changes using our member portal and CRM
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
3–5 years of experience in donor (or member) relationship management, sales, customer service, or similar field
Faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church and committed to the mission and values of the NCBC
A bachelor’s degree
Experience using a CRM like HubSpot
Experience and comfort communicating in a variety of formats (written, on the phone, and in person)
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Excellent organizational skills
Attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate the mission, vision, priorities, issues, and impact of the NCBC to diverse audiences
Ability to self-motivate, work both with close direction and independently, and know when to seek help or guidance
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments
