The Moral Landscape of Vaccinations

Wednesday, June 23, 7:15–9:30 P.M. 1325 Boot Rd, West Chester, PA 19380. USA

Must Catholics receive a vaccination? Must Catholics avoid all or some vaccinations? Should people be compelled to receive vaccinations? Dr. John Brehany will present to us the moral landscape of vaccinations from a Catholic perspective and take questions from the audience on related subjects. A past CYACC speaker, Brehany currently serves as the Executive Vice President of the National Catholic Bioethics Center. In that role, he leads the implementation of the Catholic Identity and Ethics Review Program.

SPEAKER

Dr. John F. Brehany Executive Vice President

Dr. Brehany joined The National Catholic Bioethics Center in January 2015. He leads implementation of the NCBC’s Catholic Identity and Ethics Review (CIER) program, a comprehensive, in-depth assessment program for Catholic health care based on the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services. Dr. Brehany also serves as a consultant on a range of clinical and institutional issues and teaches in the NCBC’s certification program.

From 2006 to 2014, he served as executive director and ethicist of the Catholic Medical Association. ONLINE EVENT

Join us for this online presentation: Catholic moral theology is an important discipline, particularly today in a secularized, relativistic culture. Dr. John Di Camillo of The National Catholic Bioethics Center of Philadelphia unpacks the United States Conference of Catholic Bishop’s Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services and dives deeply into the Principle of Cooperation, a key principle given increasingly interconnected institutions and healthcare systems.
