The AAFP's New "Neutral" Stance on Assisted Suicide

The National Catholic Bioethics Center stands with the Catholic Medical Association in expressing its disappointment and concern over the American Academy of Family Physicians’ (AAFP) decision to officially take a “neutral stance” on physician-assisted suicide. NCBC and CMA have worked together tirelessly to counter efforts to legalize physician assisted suicide (PAS). (See here for more information.)

PAS is diametrically opposed to the Hippocratic tradition and the medical community’s historical and long-standing opposition against physician-assisted suicide. (See here for more information.)
