A Short Course for Chaplains on the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services (ERDs) Issued by The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
This program provides chaplains working in Catholic hospitals in the state of Illinois with a six module (6 hour) asynchronous course as a review and introduction of the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services. There is a particular emphasis on the Sacraments and Catholic social teaching and its importance to the arena of health care. The course content is delivered to you by The National Catholic Bioethics Center in cooperation with the Illinois Catholic Health Association. Course of Instruction
Once enrolled for this program you have 12 weeks to complete it. You may work at your own pace and submit each assignment upon completion. Assignments are provided in both pdf and MS-Word format. If you choose, you may download the assignments in MS-Word and embed your responses below each of the questions. Your assignments should then be submitted by email to The National Catholic Bioethics Center where they are graded and returned to you. Once you have completed the 6 learning modules, the NCBC will report your final evaluation and provide notice of your completion to the Illinois Catholic Health Association office.
