The NCBC joins in an amicus brief in support of a petition to the US Supreme Court to hear the case concerning Gloucester County School Board v. G.G. by His Next Friend and Mother, Deirdre Grimm.
The Gloucester County School Board has challenged the US Department of Education mandate to schools to allow persons to choose bathrooms to be used, not based on their biological sex but on their gender identity. This mandate was issued without a specific statutory mandate or regulatory processes, such as a call for public comment. The 4th US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against a challenge by the Gloucester County School Board to this mandate. However, the US Supreme Court temporarily stayed the implementation of that order of the Court. This amicus supports the School Board in seeking a review of the ruling of the 4th US District Court of Appeals by the US Supreme Court.
