The NCBC Continues to Support Religious Freedom

January 15, 2015

The NCBC continues to support the religious freedom of numerous employers being forced to comply with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Contraceptive Coverage of Employees Mandate. NCBC has signed another amicus brief in support of these rights, in the case of Michigan Catholic Conference, et al., v. Sylvia Burwell, Secretary of Health and Human Services, et al.

The Michigan Catholic Conference, et al, are petitioning the U.S. Supreme Court to review the decision of the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which allows HHS to enforce the contraceptive mandate against the constitutionally protected freedoms of these petitioners. To date NCBC has signed onto eighteen amicus briefs in support of such freedoms.
