RESEARCH DEPARTMENT
 
Research at the National Catholic Bioethics Center consists in the systematic study and investigation into Catholic moral teaching and its application to issues in contemporary biomedical ethics. Several types of research are conducted by experts and scholars in a variety of disciplines including medicine, law, theology, and philosophy. The results are often published in books and articles. Published research from the Center is quite useful to professionals with Catholic and non-Catholic perspectives alike.The results of research are also used in the education programs and consultation service of the National Catholic Bioethics Center, enabling those services to be pertinent and informed.The Center uses a variety of resources to facilitate this on-going effort. RESOURCES
 
Resources available for National Catholic Bioethics Center research include: a library at the Center housing a collection of volumes and reference works in biomedical ethics, medicine, theology, philosophy, law. Researchers have access to numerous professional journals, extensive research files, and access to many online biomedical ethics databases.
 
A number of academic and private practice physicians serve as medical advisors, sharing with the center their medical expertise in specialties as diverse as nephrology, psychiatry, oncology, maternal-fetal medicine, anesthesiology, endrocrinology, and neurology.
