Student Programs Independent Study
The Guided Independent Study Program is open to anyone interested in studying the Catholic tradition of bioethical reflection. Students interested in specific areas of study within this tradition work with the Director of Education to select a topic and assemble materials which are of interest. Students meet with the Instructor for an informal discussion on the readings, paced and structured according to the student's needs. Students are encouraged to attend clinical ethics lectures and seminars with National Catholic Bioethics Center staff.
- Length of stay varies from one week to one semester
- NOT enrolled in the NCBC Certificate Program
- Reading list developed after consultation with the Director of Education
- Students meet with staff ethicist once a week for an informal discussion on questions arising from the readings.
- Attendance at area seminars encouraged
- Students have access to the NCBC library.
- Fees: $75 a week, plus housing
